Alice E. Kissling, 78, of Womelsdorf, PA passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, August 30, 2024, at Cedar Haven Nursing Home, Lebanon, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, John C. Kissing in 2020. They were married for 54 years.
Alice was the daughter of the late Marlin A. Hays and Helen E. Hays (Rabold).
She was a 1964 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School. She worked at Heidelberg Country Club for many years and last worked at Adelphi Kitchens.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Womelsdorf, PA. She sang in the church choir and helped with the Peach Festival for many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna J. Hickernell (husband, Steve) of Newmanstown and Dawn E. Willhotye (husband, Scott) of Myerstown.
Additionally, she is survived by eight grandchildren: Shelby Eckert (husband, Matthew), Amanda Hager (husband, Jordan), Christopher Hickernell (significant other, Sabrina), Dayna Willhoyte, Cassidy Hickernell (significant other, Chase), Rebecca Price (husband, Shawn), Tessa Willhoyte (fiance, Brandon) and Emma Willhoyte (significant other, Tyrese). She was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Raegan and Laila and she had a third one on the way. She loved all of them very much and enjoyed being a part of their lives.
She is survived by brothers, Philip Hays and John Hays (wife, Bonnie). She was predeceased by her brother, David Hays and her sister, Maryann Gockley (husband, Terry). She is survived by many nieces and nephews that she truly held dear to her heart.
She enjoyed knitting, crafting, cooking, puzzles, playing Scrabble, shopping and watching movies on the Hallmark Channel. She loved having her family over for holidays, birthdays and Friday evening “card night”, which remained a tradition even after her husband passed away. She was known for her thoughtful little gifts and cards. You never knew when she was going to show up at your door with something that she made for you or with something that she picked up somewhere just for you or your family. She could definitely brighten your day with her never ending generosity.
