Ashley Rizzuto Obituary

Ashley J. Rizzuto, 41, of Palmer Township, Northampton County, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, August 26, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was the beloved wife of Chris J. Rizzuto, with whom she shared a life full of love, joy, and cherished memories.

Born on Tuesday, July 19, 1983, in West Reading, Ashley was a beloved daughter of Daniel L. and Karen A. (née Troutman) Shuman. Her spirit was a radiant light, and she saw the good in everyone she met. Ashley was known for her deep love of family, her gentle kindness, and her infectious enthusiasm for life.

A devoted mother to her son, Dominic Frank Rizzuto, Ashley’s love for him was boundless and she enjoyed discussing names of dinosaurs daddy can't pronounce. Her husband Chris and her loved their Dominic and date weekends when they could. Together, they shared a passion for taking Dominic on trips and teaching him things, The Golden Girls, Bar Rescue, Lifetime movies and of course horror movies (their first movie together was the movie, Saw).

Ashley was a voracious reader, an accomplished musician who played both the flute and piano, and a dedicated dog lover. She now rejoins her beloved Jasmine and Buddy. She found joy in the simple things: decorating her home for Christmas, hosting parties of all kinds—whether it was a UFC fight night or a murder mystery dinner—and solving puzzles and escape rooms with the precision of a master. Her glass was always filled with Chardonnay, and her heart was always filled with warmth and love.

A 2001 graduate of Conrad Weiser School District, Ashley pursued her passion for helping others and went on to earn a Master's degree from Xavier University. She was a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst, a career where her compassion and dedication touched the lives of many.

Ashley is survived by her husband, Chris; her parents, Daniel and Karen Shuman; her cherished son, Dominic; her siblings, Heather R. (David) Baum, Jessica A. (James) Keller, and Morgan S. (Yassine) Annab; and her nieces and nephews, Jacob D. Baum, Cecelia K. Baum, Lindsay A. Keller, Harper Jones, and Henry Jones. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Peggy Rizzuto; her grandmother, Pauline Shuman; her aunts, Celia Shuman and Donna Donato; and her sister-in-law, Natalie (Nate) Jones. Ashley’s love extended to her fur kids, Luna, Max, and Caesar, who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 1:30 PM, at Zion Lutheran Church, 300 W. High St., Womelsdorf, with the Rev. Dr. Wayne A. Heintzelman officiating.
