Dawn A. Gerhart, 62, of Womelsdorf, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026. She was the wife of James “Jim” F. Gerhart, Jr. Born Thursday, April 9, 1964, in Reading, she was a daughter of Henry H. Rulapaugh and the late Kathryn R. Rulapaugh, née Sielsch. She was also predeceased by her aunt and uncles, Roseann (Phillip) Krick, Kenneth Sielsch, Joseph Rulapaugh, and Charles Rulapaugh. In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by her parents-in-law: James (Gloria) Gerhart, her children: Mandy (Justin) McClure & Rusty Gerhart (Max Clifford); her grandchildren: Tyler and Aiden McClure; and by her siblings and siblings-in-law: Wendy Rulapaugh (Beth Shaffer), Randall (Melissa) Rulapaugh, & Shawn (Tina) Gerhart, along with their children. Dawn was a 1982 graduate of Conrad Weiser Area School District. She met her beloved husband, Jim, in the 6th grade. They graduated as high school sweethearts and married on October 26, 1985. Thirty years later to the day, Jim and Dawn renewed their vows in Hawaii. After welcoming their children in 1990 (Mandy) and 1992 (Rusty), she spent many years as “super mom”, supporting them daily with love, nurturing, and life lessons. As her kids grew up, she remained the rock of her family and her role transitioned from parent to grandparent and caregiver. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her passions included traveling, biking, rooting for the Phillies, babysitting her grandchildren, caregiving for her mother and father, and spending time at the beach with her family. Relatives and friends may visit with the family to share memories on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4 - 7 PM at the Mull Funeral Home, 27 E High St., Womelsdorf. A Life Celebration Service will start at 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, in Dawn’s memory, may be made to the charity of one’s choice. The family also asks that you honor her memory by extending kindness to others, checking in on those you love, and offering compassion whenever you can.
