Duane Ernest Pysher, age 75, of Wernersville passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 at his residence.
He was the loving husband of B. (Hoy) Pysher.
He was born in Tatamy, PA on January 18, 1948 a son of the late Stanley and Laura (Young) Pysher.
He was a 1965 graduate of Pen Argyl High School, a graduate of Delaware Valley College, and graduated with his Master’s degree in Agronomy from Penn State.
He worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Duane retired in January 2004 from the Natural Resource Conservation Service, Harrisburg as a Natural Grassland Specialist and an Agronomist after 36 years of service.
He was a 44 year member of St. John’s (Hain’s) U.C.C., where he formerly served on Church Consistory, an active member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, past president of the Pennsylvania Forage and Grassland Council, and a former member of the Berks Area Resource Network. He was also the Wernersville Representative for the creation of the Western Berks Fire Company.
He was a good man, a man of many talents. He loved to tinker, loved old cars, traveling, blue grass music, a good meal, his friends and his B.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Eric M. Pysher; step-son, Matthew A. Small (Shelly); and eight grandchildren, Aaron J. Pysher (Chloe), Marissa L. Pysher, Danielle E. Pysher, Collin J. Pysher, Sierra L. Pysher, Jacob Pysher, Rachel M. Small, and Logan M. Small.
He was predeceased by a son, Todd E. Pysher on April 10, 2004; a brother, Myrl Pysher, a sister, Grace A. Wetzel; and nephews, Brian and Dale Wetzel.
Funeral Services will be held at St. John’s (Hain’s) U.C.C., 591 N. Church Rd., Wernersville on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11:00am with the Rev. Mark Johnson officiating.
Interment will follow at Hain’s Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00am at the Church.
