Harold "Utzer" Gruber Obituary

Harold P. “Utzer” Gruber, age 97, of Robesonia went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2022 in the Reading Hospital.

He was born to Robert and Cora Gruber on November 28, 1924 in Wernersville.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII on the Island of Okinawa. He was a radio operator for Northwest Airlines after his military service. He worked in sales most of his life. He was a member of Mt. Aetna Bible Church. He volunteered in the Raggedy Ann & Andy Program at the Reading Hospital for many years and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.

He is survived by his wife Erma (Matthew) Gruber who he married on July 4, 1951. He is also survived by two children: Corey (husband of Emelda Gruber) Fredericksburg, VA and Penny (wife of Jack Morris) Womelsdorf; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Pearl, Anna, and Verna.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 am at Mt. Aetna Bible Church, 11 N. Chestnut St., Mt. Aetna, PA 19544, with Military Honors following.

A visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Church.

Cole Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Robesonia is handling arrangements.
