Jacob M. “Jake” Renninger, Jr., age 77, of Heidelberg Twp. passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the Reading Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born in Penn Twp. on December 30, 1945 a son of the late Jacob M. Renninger, Sr. and Elsie (Hain) Renninger.
He was a licensed plumber for 60 years, starting his career with W.F. Naugle & Sons Plumbing & Heating, Shillington for 25 years and later working for Berkshire Mechanical and the last 20 years running his own business. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or a problem he couldn't solve, including being knowledgeable in auto mechanics.
He was a member of St. Thomas Church, Bernville.
Jake had been an ace longboard player at many Berks and Lancaster establishments in past years. He loved golf and working on his classic cars. He was a life member of the Fritztown Fire Company and the Marion Rod & Gun. He was a former member of South Mountain Rod & Kustom Car Club.
He is survived by his wife, Helen V. (Reber) Renninger; son, Kerry Renninger (Teresa), Temple; daughter, Sheila Renninger, Brooklyn, NY; granddaughter, Natasha Hartill (Travis), Pittsburgh; two great grandsons, Trey and Troy Hartill; and a brother, Wilbur, Kenhorst. He was predeceased by a sister, Maryanne Schmohl and a brother, Ralph Hain.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 2:30pm at Cole Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Robesonia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:30pm at Cole Funeral Home.
