John A. Swope

John A. Swope, age 96, of Mt. Aetna passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon.

His wife of 71 years, Fern B. (Ohlinger) Swope died on May 17, 2023.

Born in Womelsdorf on October 17, 1928 a son of the late John D. and Florence (Eiceman) Swope.

John was the owner and operator of the family Silo business.

He was a member of St. John’s Church of Mt. Aetna.

He is survived by two sons, Dale Swope (Jen), and Glen Swope; three grandchildren, Angela, Ashley, and Cory. He was predeceased by siblings, Donald, Clarence, & Ray Swope, Sr. and Margaret Haag.

Services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Cole Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Robesonia.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 PM and Friday from 10:30 to 11:00 AM at Cole Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Hain’s Church Cemetery.
