Lynda Himmelberger Obituary

Lynda R. Himmelberger, 85, of Womelsdorf and formerly of Strausstown, passed away in the late evening hours Thursday, April 2, 2026, in the Laurel Center, Hamburg. She was the wife of Roger L. “Pinky” Himmelberger. Born Friday, November 29, 1940, in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harry & Pauline Kulp, née Lengel. Surrounded by the love of her family, Lynda passed away after a long and full life marked by devotion, creativity, and quiet strength. She was cherished by her husband of 64 years, her three children, five grandchildren, and ten great‑grandchildren, each of whom felt the warmth of her steady presence and generous heart. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Lynda moved to Bernville at age 9 and after graduating from Penn-Bernville High School, she built a career as a payroll clerk, known for her reliability, attention to detail, and the kindness she brought to every workplace. Upon marrying, she settled in Strausstown, a place that would become the backdrop for many of her most treasured memories. A talented seamstress, she had a gift for turning fabric into something beautiful and meaningful. She found joy in simple pleasures such as reading, going to movies and lunch with her daughters, long drives in the country followed by one of her favorite treats: ice cream. She also loved spending time in the mountains of Sullivan County with her family, where laughter and togetherness came easily. And the grandchildren always knew that grandma would have their favorite snacks on hand. Her loyal dog, PJ, was her constant companion, offering comfort, company, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy of gentleness, devotion, and quiet joy. Her family will forever carry her memory in the traditions she created, the love she gave so freely, and the countless ways she made their lives richer. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Myles R. (Kelly) Himmelberger, Wendy S. (James) Schutt, and Anne P. (Brian) Binner; 5 grandchildren:Erika, Brooke, Lainie, Kristy, Tony; 10 great-grandchildren: Giovanni, Nico, Serafina, Adrianna, Elijah, Bryson, Tessa, Lucas, Reagan, Ryleigh; and her brother: Marvin Kulp. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Strausstown Cemetery.
