Paul M. McKim, 78, of Marion Township, passed away peacefully on the evening of Wednesday 14th, 2022, in his residence, with his loving wife by his side.
He was the husband of Gail M. (nee’ Krick) McKim.
Born August 31, 1944, in Three Springs, Huntingdon County, PA, he was a son of the late Paul L. & Irene (nee’ Heclo) McKim.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Robesonia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Blair P. (husband of Deborah) McKim; his granddaughter: Paige E. McKim; his siblings: Glenn McKim, Donald McKim, and Ella (McKim) DiGuglielmo; his brother-in-law Raynard “Mike” Krick, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Audrey McKim, Ernest McKim, and the Reverend Blair H. McKim.
Additionally, with gratitude, the McKim family would like to recognize Diane Pletz of Robesonia, who was Paul’s exceptionally compassionate caregiver over the past few years.
Paul proudly served six years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He held various management positions in the mechanical trades throughout his career. He had a long association with his best friend George Bracy, in the HVAC and Electrical business, which continued long beyond his formal retirement from Metropolitan Edison / First Energy in 1994.
Having been raised on a farm in the Monroe Valley of Huntingdon County, Paul loved gardening, and raising all types of baby animals, especially chickens. He loved hiking the mountains and meadows, and fishing for endless hours with his brothers and friends in the Aughwick Creek. He had great respect for nature and regarded it as a valued teacher, for both mind and spirit. Later in life, he hunted and fished the entirety of the Blue Marsh area near his home, and was fortunate enough to score a trophy white-tailed buck, as well as a trophy sized Muskellunge.
Paul’s happiest times were spent with his family, especially on their many trips to Walt Disney World. One of his fondest memories was fishing with Paige at the family get-away in Saint Augustine, FL and helping her catch her first fish.
Paul was a loving, caring, and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. His nature was one of giving without expecting anything in return. He was always there to assist a family member or friend in need. He will be sadly missed.
Paul and Gail shared 56 years of a happy and devoted marriage, observing their 56th wedding anniversary this past October 29th.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, December 22nd at 1 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 108 S. Robeson St., Robesonia, PA 19551, with the Rev. Jennifer Dee and Rev. Drew Neidig officiating. A reception featuring Paul’s favorite baked goods and desserts will be held in the Church social hall following the service. The Mull Funeral Home, Womelsdorf, has charge. www.mullfh.com
