Richard D. "Rick" Sayers

Richard D. “Rick” Sayers, age 70, of Robesonia passed away on Thursday morning, May 16, 2024 at the Reading Hospital.

On June 4, 1994 he married Dawn L. (Zerbe) Sayers, who survives.

He was born in West Reading on June 10, 1953 the son of the late Ralph and Luella (Pfeifly) Sayers.

He was a 1971 graduate of Reading High School.

Rick was employed at Reading Alloys, Robesonia for 36 years and at Graphite Machining, Robesonia for 8 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Jenna L. Swope (Craig); a grandson, Bryson; a sister, Edith M. DeTemple (Daniel); a brother, James Sayers; a nephew, Greg DeTemple (Lori); two great nieces and a great nephew.

Rick enjoyed spending time with family and friends and most loved spending time with Bryson and attending his baseball games. He was proud of his vegetable & flower gardens, and his truck. He loved fishing, going to the shore, especially Ocean City, MD, and attending music concerts and seeing local bands.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Cole Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 402 E. Penn Ave., Robesonia. There will be a time of sharing memories following the visitation. Immediately following, Rick’s family would also like to invite everyone for a time of refreshments, fellowship, and a live band to continue Rick’s Celebration of Life at the Robesonia Fire Company Fire Company.
