Veronica (Gallagher) Babilon

Veronica (Gallagher) Babilon, 92, of Landis Store, passed away in the early morning of Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Kutztown.  

Being married on October 11, 1952, she was the wife of George H. Babilon for 71 years.  

Born on March 21, 1931, in Germantown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harold M. and Veronica (Hack) Gallagher.  

Veronica was a 1949 graduate of Little Flower High School, Philadelphia.  

She was a member of the Auerhahn Schuhplattler Verein, Oley, and was the accordion player for them for several years. She was also very talented with her knitting and sewing machines.  

Along with her husband, Veronica is survived by her children: Veronica, wife of Eric Schoellkopf, Sr., Ruscombmanor Twp., Joseph W. Babilon, husband of Annette, Tijeras, NM, Robert W. Babilon, husband of Leatha, Boyertown, G. Vernon “Blitz” Babilon, husband of Joan M. Wolfe, Tucson, AZ, and Diane M. wife of Eric Meck, Eagleville.   

She is also survived by her siblings: Maureen Kulak, Kathleen Morley and Michael Gallagher.  

Additional survivors include her grandchildren: Veronica Littlefield, Ashley Babilon, Amy O’Brien, Brian Babilon, Kaley Aragon, Dorothy O’Donnell, Lyndsey Kirchner, Eric Schoellkopf, Jr. Benjamin Meck and Joshua Meck. And great-grandchildren: Veronica, Zoey, Gavin, Miles, David, Jacob, Dora, Felina, Jack, Quinn, Tyler, Reese, Sawyer, Harper and Giulia. There are also three more great-grandchildren on the way.  

Veronica was predeceased by her son, George H. Babilon, Jr., brothers, Dennis Gallagher, Harold Gallagher, Gerald Gallagher, and great-grandchildren, Benjamin O’Donnell and Morgan O’Brien.  

Celebration of Life for Veronica Babilon (aka Ronny, Vera, Grammy, Mom, Aunt Ronny, Aunt Vera, ...) will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024, starting at NOON, at Keystone Fire Company, 240 North Walnut Street, Boyertown, PA  19512.
