Walter Irwin Obituary

Walter J. Irwin, age 88, of Womelsdorf passed away on September 15, 2024 at his residence.

He was the husband of the late Viola H. (Freeman) Irwin who passed away in 1988.

He was born in Adamstown, on January 13, 1936 a son of the late Walter J. Irwin, Sr. and the late Emma (Harding) Irwin.

Walter was a graduate of Wilson High School and proudly served in the U.S Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956.

Walter loved his trains, especially taking train rides. He also loved fishing, bowling, and traveling to Maine and Florida.

Most of his life he was a truck driver, having worked for Weaver’s and Empire Wrecking and later was a limo driver for LifeStyle.

He is survived by his children, Susan Reese widow of Ronald, Kevin Irwin husband of Beverly, Jeffrey Irwin husband of Ilona, and Michael Irwin husband of Deanna; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by his brother, Chester Irwin; and sisters, Bessie Leisey and Ruth Kuznair.

A Memorial Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Mull Funeral Home, 27 E. High St., Womelsdorf.
