Wayne P Ruch

Wayne P. Ruch, 76, of Lower Heidelberg Township, passed away in the morning hours Monday, October 6, 2025, in the Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Aldeena R. Ruch, née Firestone. Born Monday, June 27, 1949, in Breinigsville, Lehigh Co., he was the son of the late Paul F. & Alma M. Ruch, née Tressler. He was a 1967 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Following graduation he proudly served in the US Air Force including a stint in Vietnam.  Wayne had worked as a speed pulpit operator at Carpenter Technology until his retirement in the early 2000’s. He also served in Carpenter Fire & Rescue. After retiring from Carpenter, he worked at Boscov’s in various positions for about 2 years. In his spare time, Wayne was a dedicated Eagles and Phillies fan. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, especially when Darrell Waltrip was racing. He was a volunteer firefighter for both Sinking Spring and Lower Heidelberg Township fire departments. Wayne was active in the therapy dog community with his Vizsla, Jax and Nederlandse Kooikerhondje, Buster. He enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans at the Sinking Spring VFW and walking with them in the veteran’s march on Veterans Day. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Jason Ruch, his fiancé, Paula Machukas & Jennifer (John) Hurter; 1 grandson, Tyler Ruch; 3 step grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren and by his sister: Susan J. (Terrence) Bard. He is also survived by his dogs: Splash and Buster as well as his grand dogs: Baby Paprika and Nala. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 4:30 PM, from the Mull Funeral Home, 27 E High St., Womelsdorf, with the Rev. June E. Wann, officiating.  Relatives and friends may call Saturday, from 2:30 PM, until time of service at the Funeral Home.  Burial will be Monday, at 11 AM, in Ziegel’s Church Cemetery, Breinigsville. www.mullfh.com
