"Willow" Cole Obituary

“Willow”, our beloved 15 year old Golden Retriever who gave love to everyone she met, passed over the rainbow bridge on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Willow was the dedicated “Therapy Dog” at Cole Funeral Home for the past 6 years, she was a friend to everyone she met and did her job with love, giving comfort to many grieving families. Being at the Funeral Home (often 7 days a week) was her happy place.

Willow’s journey began in Rome, Georgia where she was given up to a shelter in June of 2011 at the approximate age of 1 to 2 years old. Her first owner in Georgia is unknown. From there she was adopted by Clift and Florence Roome of New Jersey and upon the passing of Mr. Roome, she would be adopted by Ardeth Schlouch of Breinigsville. With the failing health of Mrs. Schlouch, we lovingly brought Willow into our home 6 years ago. Having to transition to so many homes in her short life had to be stressful, but she did it with class and resilience.

She was loved immensely and will be sorely missed and never forgotten. Well done thy good and faithful companion. Enjoy your new heavenly puppy body and until we meet again my loyal friend. I will sorely miss my work companion.

“So this is where we part, My Friend, and you’ll run on around the bend. Gone from sight, but not from mind, new pleasures there you’ll surely find. Your place I’ll hold, you will be missed, the fur I stroked, the nose I kissed. And as you journey to your final rest, take with you this….I Loved You Best!”
